What is taping and strapping?
We use rigid sports tape and elastic kinesiology tape to support joints and soft tissues. Taping can off-load painful structures, cue better movement, and provide short-term stability while your rehab builds strength and control.
Who benefits from taping and strapping?
Ideal if you need temporary support for training or day-to-day tasks, including:
Ankle sprains needing extra stability early on
Knee pain (patellofemoral) benefiting from patellar guidance
Shoulder/rotator cuff irritation during overhead work
Achilles/plantar fasciitis for symptom cueing during loading
Return to running/sport while strength catches up

What to expect from taping and strapping

We’ll keep it comfortable and purposeful—tape that supports without restricting you unnecessarily.
Quick check-in & test: What movements hurt, what you need to do today/this week
Targeted application: Rigid or elastic tape patterns matched to your goals (support, cueing, comfort)
Move & re-test: Check the effect on range, control and tasks (stairs, squat, run-drills)
Plan for the week: How long to keep it on, when to re-tape, and how it ties into your exercises
Types of taping we use

We can apply tape as a stand-alone add-on before key sessions, or as part of a review/rehab appointment when we’re progressing your plan. Frequency is individual—your physio will agree what makes sense for your goals.
How often should I book?
-
Rigid/sports tape: Firm support to limit excessive movement (e.g., ankle, AC joint).
-
Kinesiology tape: Elastic tape to provide light support and sensory feedback without restricting range.
-
Hybrid approaches: Combining both for specific tasks or positions.
